About Us
"There is no health without mental health.”
- World Health Organization
Many people think that the only one's who need to be mindful of their mental health are those who have a diagnosed mental illness. But nothing can be further from the truth as our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors significantly impact the way we experience life, whether for the good or bad. And how can it not? Because let's be real, Life does not come without its challenges.
According to the American Psychiatric Association, as many as 20% of American adults will experience a diagnosable mental health disorder in any given year. To put this in perspective that's 1 in every 5 adults! Sadly though, only half will seek professional treatment and the other half will suffer in silence.
Though not all people will experience a mental illness in their lifetime, everyone will struggle or have a challenge with their mental health at some point in their lives.
Our Approach
At Complementary Psychiatry we believe in a whole-body integrative approach to mental health & wellness.
This means we treat the whole person using evidence based approaches via the utilization of pharmaceuticals, supplements, and complementary therapies. We don't believe in treating one's symptoms with medication alone which may mask underlying issues that may need to be addressed. We will address the physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental influences that affect one’s health and wellness.
We will work together to create a personalized strategy that will help you in your journey to recovery. We will want to know how you have lived your life until this point so that we may address any possible underlying issues, as well as any factors that may have been contributing to any symptoms you may be experiencing.
Philosophy of Recovery
We want you to know that you are not alone and no matter where you are in life with the proper treatment you can get better because we believe that healing is always possible, even when curing is not. With commitment and determination you can create the resilience to overcome life stressors and challenges so that you can build the life you want and deserve.
One last thing I would like you to take away is that YOU are the owner of the most powerful sophisticated machine on the planet—the human mind and YOU have the power to reprogram it to live the very best YOU!
Commitment to Clients
At Complementary Psychiatry we believe in a patient centered approach to health and wellness. We will work together to create a personalized treatment plan to help you feel better. But we can't do it alone. We need a partner and that partner is YOU.
We believe in empowering our patients to make the right choices for themselves by taking responsibility for one's own health and wellness no matter where one may be in their personal life's journey.
